As usual, please excuse the terrible indoor nighttime lighting. But it’s done! I’m glad to have it finished by the end of the year – I have big knitting plans for next year, and would like to start fresh.
I just got the second sleeve done today and sewed the side seams, then chucked it in the washer and dryer. The yarn is 100% linen, so it is pretty stiff. The washing and drying has relaxed it a bit, but there is a ways to go before it is particularly relaxed.

Still, though – very happy with how it turned out! The pattern is Forest Weave by DanDoh and the yarn is Fibra Natura Flax – this color is Mineral.
How are your projects going? Have anything you’re trying to get done by the end of the year?
Beautiful! I’d love to see you modeling it. I’m hoping to finish Twilight Toujours by the end of the year!

I like it and it’s very pretty but it doesn’t look warm. Since it’s linen, is it more of a summer top?

Yes – you are right. I plan to put it on over tank tops and tank dresses, and it is definitely a summer item. It is a little warmer than you’d think, but definitely not winter wear!

Thank you! It is a nifty pattern – a little monotonous to knit, but worth it in the end 🙂

It’s lovely! I’m sure it will get softer with each wearing.

Thank you! Yes, I think so. I have a top that is knitted out of linen tape that also started out stiff and is now soft and drapey. Linen takes a while to reach its potential 🙂

I love the look! I will find the pattern and consider it. I have some nice linen yarn left…

There is a link to the pattern at the bottom of the post, or you can Google Forest Weave and you should get right to it! 🙂

Did you make it larger than needed because you intended to tumble dry it…I think my linen cardigan is too snug to risk it shrinking, especially as I’m now 5lb heavier than when I finished it! I love the colour of yarn you’ve used here, I look forward to seeing it on in the summer, so please share a pic then. 😀

It is intended to be way oversize. I do intend to machine wash and dry it, as that is what the yarn label says to do 🙂 Thank you!

Hmm I need to have a look for the label for my linen yarn and see what it says. I just assumed handwash and dry flat! Doh!

It’s easy to get used to that – that’s how we are supposed to treat all our handknits 🙂 But I believe cotton and linen are OK to be a bit rougher with.

I love it. The whole time you were knitting it I had been picturing the cables going the other way, and wow is it much prettier the right way. I am hoping to pick up my Everyday Shawl before the end of the decade. I won’t get it finished before 2020, but I would like to be making progress on it by then.

It is knit sideways, so looking at the pieces it looks like the cables would be vertical.
Your Everyday Shawl is turning out so pretty – love to see your progress on it!
