I started a pair of socks for my DH, and what did he request? Plain black socks. What about cables or ribbing? Plain. What about gray or blue, maybe navy? Black. Plain black socks. So that is what I’m doing. I’m doing my usual plain vanilla toe-up socks, but to his measurements and in plain… Continue reading Sock It To Me Monday: Black Hole Socks
Making decent progress on my Shelly Summer Top! I’m almost, but not quite, halfway done with the first side. It is a pretty easy knit – it’s just one of the variants of Feather and Fan, otherwise known as Old Shale, so it’s pretty straightforward. As you can probably see, the yarn is pooling a… Continue reading Shelly Top Update
The flowers are continuing to bloom – hoping we can keep them going until fall! And that’s how my garden grows 🙂
My story today starts, as my stories often do, with yarn. I recently bought a Dinosaur Eggs: A Study miniskein set from Yarnaceous Fibers, whose dinosaur and geology themed asthetic I enjoy. They are reasonably festive, and I am pretty happy with how they turned out! They are my standard plain vanilla… Continue reading Sock It To Me Monday: Xmas in July Done!
I finally got a start on my Shelley Summer Top using the lovely Bamboo Pop yarn I won from Nancyknit’s blog. I didn’t get a lot of knitting time today, so I wasn’t able to do a huge amount of it, but at least there’s a start 🙂
And yet, FO far 🙂 I have about 8 rows of ribbing and the bindoff left before my Christmas in July socks are done – hopefully this weekend!
I have been knitting away, but it all looks kind of like it did the last time I took pictures – there’s just more of it now 🙂 So time for an update on the plants! It’s a little hard to see, but the avocado has spouted a stem with some tiny little leaves on… Continue reading Plant Update
