Slippers are Done!
Well, the knitting part, anyway. The felting part is yet to be done, but that will be the recipients’ job 🙂 All I need to do now is write up the felting instructions and mail them off. On to the next project!

My felted slippers are done! These work up really fast, and are very cozy. My last pair fell apart in May, and it was already getting a bit warmer so I didn’t bother making another pair for summer. But now that it’s getting chilly again, time for more slippers! Here they are before felting –… Continue reading Sock It To Me Monday: Slippers are Socks if you Squint
I did manage to get one small thing finished this week – a pair of Woodland Loafer slippers! This basically never happens to me, but I suddenly have a knitting emergency. My felted slippers came apart on me, just as it’s starting to get cold! I have had the sense that they were getting a little thin, but they seemed to be holding together pretty well. Then I put them in the washer,… Continue reading Unexpected Project
Before I get started on my real topic today, let me just say YAY, DH’s slippers are done! Clockwise from the top, these are Mom’s, DH’s, and my slippers. Anyway, as I was in the midst of this slipper frenzy, I started wondering about the details of how exactly this felting thing works. I know… Continue reading I Felt a Curiosity
Many knitters are introduced to the concept of felting via a laundry mishap followed by tears and recriminations. I took a class – less stress 🙂 I just finished a class at my LYS, Far North Yarn Company, on making felted slippers. You may be familiar with the pattern. As of the time I am… Continue reading Felting – On Purpose
