One and a half slippers knitted, half of one to go! Tomorrow is a pretty quiet day, so I think I should be able to get the second one done and have them felted by the end of the day ๐
How is your project queue looking? Are you working on any cold weather gear?
I have always wondered about felting slippersโdoesnโt the felting process make the fabric shrink? If so how can you determine how big to make the original item so it fits after being felted?

I am working from a pattern, so it is designed to shrink to the correct size, roughly. Once you have run it through the washer on hot, you need to wear them for a while so they shape to your feet. Then you take them off to dry for a while.
I have also been doing some experiments with shrink rates when you felt knitted fabric, so it would be possible to calculate it out, I think.

My dog just destroyed my pair of felted slippers. So I am pretty sure another pair will be in order by the end of this year!

Glad the slippers are going quick! I have to finish my Christmas presents before Iโm allowed to knit anything else!

I got the first pair felted, but one is a mite bigger than the other. I am sending them home with Diva to felt more if needed in her top load washer. My front load takes too many washes to felt.

Top load does work best for sure! My old washer even had an extra agitation thing you could do that worked like a charm. My new one works OK, but not quite as well ๐
