Ixchel is Done!

December 2, 2018 quiteayarnblog20 Comments

I got finished knitting Ixchel earlier this week, then my Mom very kindly wove in my ends (I have an awesome Mom!).  I blocked it yesterday, and this morning it is ready to go!   I could not be happier with it.  There are one or two things I’d do differently if I was to make… Continue reading Ixchel is Done!

So Stripey!

December 1, 2018December 1, 2018 quiteayarnblog6 Comments

I didn’t have a lot of time for knitting today, but did get to make some pretty decent progress on Dolores’ new caftan.  Tomorrow I plan to go back to my Find Your Fade shawl, so hoping to get a lot done on that!   How are your projects going?

Knitter’s Bookshelf: Amy Herzog’s Ultimate Sweater Book

November 27, 2018 quiteayarnblog6 Comments

I bought my copy of Amy Herzog’s new sweater book shortly after it came out around a month ago, and have been reading through it in bits and pieces ever since. In between there have been a few more books that have come out that I had to read (a new Rivers of London and… Continue reading Knitter’s Bookshelf: Amy Herzog’s Ultimate Sweater Book

Busy Day

November 26, 2018 quiteayarnblog4 Comments

In spite of having a day off, I got very little knitting done.  I did get some Christmas prep done, and also a few chores, so that was all good.  Clearing the deck for later this week!   But I have passed a milestone on Ixchel – the 2nd sleeve is done!  I did decide to… Continue reading Busy Day

Ixchel – Actual Progress

November 24, 2018 quiteayarnblog2 Comments

I am so close to done with my Ixchel – just a few more inches on the second sleeve to knit!   I have 8 more rows of plain knitting, then about 2 inches of ribbing, then casting off. So close! Of course then there’s weaving in ends, and blocking, and very possibly undoing the waist… Continue reading Ixchel – Actual Progress

Something’s Finally Done!

November 23, 2018 quiteayarnblog8 Comments

Tuck Stitch Cowl #2 is finally done!  The yarns are Freia Ombre Grande and A Tree Hugger’s Wife Soft DK. I didn’t really have a pattern, just used a stitch pattern and a generic number of stitches to work it on.  I’m pretty happy with how it turned out, and also happy to be done… Continue reading Something’s Finally Done!

Merry Stitchmas

November 19, 2018 quiteayarnblog4 Comments

I’m really wresting with whether or not to knit gifts for some of my coworkers.  It goes without saying that my knitworthy friend Nora is getting something or the other.  Maybe a cowl, maybe a phone cozy – I don’t really know yet.  But something.   It’s late November, so I have to decide quick. There are… Continue reading Merry Stitchmas

Ixchel – Sleeve #2

November 17, 2018 quiteayarnblog4 Comments

I didn’t have a whole lot of time to knit tonight, but I did get a little bit done on sleeve #2.  Two more rows in the allover pattern, and then I start to do the sleeve decrease and just the arrow and moon pattern down the center of the sleeve.  Starting to see a… Continue reading Ixchel – Sleeve #2

Thwarted

November 14, 2018 quiteayarnblog2 Comments

That’s as close as I’ve gotten to working on the 2nd tuck stitch cowl since Sunday afternoon. Every day I have brought it to work, hoping to get a few rows in at lunch or on a break.  Every day something comes up.  Today it was a good thing – DH was able to meet… Continue reading Thwarted
