Well, that didn’t work. At least this time rather than waiting until I cast off to try my Fright Night socks on, I tried them on as I went. And yup, they are too tight again. This attempt was on needles up 1 size from what I used for the rest of the sock, and… Continue reading Sock It To Me Monday: 3rd Time Lucky?
I ripped back my Fright Night socks to the start of the colorwork section and am giving it another shot. This time I went up a needle size thanks to the good suggestion from azwoolgirl. Between that and just trying to keep everything loose, hopefully this time everything will go OK 🙂
My Fright Night socks are almost done! I have just a few inches of ribbing to go, and my 2021 Halloween socks are finished! Very happy with how the little bats turned out! The pattern is Fright Night by Lara Smoot – it doesn’t seem to be for sale any longer, which is why there’s… Continue reading Sock It To Me Monday
Apologies – this is going to be photo heavy. I am going to do Ambah O’Brien’s Halloween knit along, and am having trouble deciding on the yarn to use. I definitely don’t need to buy any, having a lot of good options already. The project looks like this – these photos are from Ambah’s site:… Continue reading Betwixt and Between
This is the first of what will likely be several Halloween projects this year – the Cemetery Drive cowl (Ravelry link). The dark background color is Poe and his Raven from Pandia’s Jewels, and the greenish color is Ectoplasm, though I’m not sure of the dyer. It has a handwritten tag that leaves off a… Continue reading Cemetery Drive Cowl – Done!
Right now, I’ve only got one thing on the needles other than DH’s socks – my Cemetery Drive cowl! I’ve got a little bit of colorwork yet to do, then the top ribbing. It’s a fun knit, and I’m very happy with how it’s turning out! Have any works in progress? And if so, how… Continue reading Wednesday WIP
In addition to DH’s socks, I have two ongoing projects, both of which are moving along. My second Burnished mitten is around halfway done. I’ve got maybe 15 more rows until the thumb separation, then the hand and thumb. I was hoping to get this done by the end of July. Maybe that will happen?… Continue reading Wednesday WIPS
Is it too early for Halloween knitting? No. Therefore, my Mom and I started on our (Ravelry link) Cemetery Drive cowls so we are ready for the spooky season! Interestingly, we are both using yarn from Pandia’s Jewels. Mom’s cowl is the greenish one on the left – her colorway is Zombie Outbreak Stage 3.… Continue reading Halloween of Independence
As October started, I had all kinds of big plans for ALL the Halloween knitting I was going to get done. It turns out those big plans would have been achievable if 1) I was retired, and 2) I didn’t need to sleep. Here’s what the plan looked like: So what of that did I… Continue reading Big Plans
