Yesterday I started on a kit I have had for a while, 2 Spooky Halloween Hat by Nancy Bates. So far it’s a pretty easy and fun knit. The kit came with a printed pattern and all the needed yarns. This one may get finished this week!
Hats are so fun and quick to make – I really should do more of them! What’s your favorite quick little project to do when you need a fast finish?
Hats and cowls are my go to quick wins. You will be all set for Halloween!

You are right – they are good quick ones! You did this same hat in a different colorway, right?

That looks like a very good start! For you its fun and easy to make – for me it is scary – ha! I need to someday break out of the one hat pattern I knit lol!

You are such a skilled fiber artist – you will get into it when you’re ready. And you will be brilliant at it!!

My favorite quick knit projects are fingerless mitts. They knit up really quickly, especially when you use a heavier yarn! And since there are no fingers, it’s a lot easier to make them for anyone. The hat’s looking great! I should make more hats, too.

Fingerless mitts are great quick projects too!

A pair of mitts is probably about the same amount of work as a hat, but for some reason to me they seem faster. Maybe because when I’m halfway done with the mitts, I have one finished mitt, but halfway done with a hat is just half a hat… ๐

I can’t quite believe I’m saying this but vanilla socks. Despite the fine yarn and small needles, I’m finding my current pair quite compulsive. I’d forgotten how quickly they go with just a few stitches here and a few there. Also this pair is for my sister-in-law who has smaller feet than either me or my partner so the first one practically flew off the needles.

Sometimes its great to just finish something quickly and easily – sounds like these socks are fitting the bill!

Ack! That hat is adorable. I usually make hats when I need a quick hit, but I need to transition to mitts because I don’t have enough to leave all over and not worry about losing.

Thanks! Mitts are a good thing to have a lot of! Especially with little ones who like to go out and play ๐
