More Schooner

January 8, 2019 quiteayarnblog6 Comments

Now that the decreases are happening, the fronts are moving along pretty quickly! I have about 30 more rows of neck decreases, then a little shoulder shaping, and done! Well, except for blocking and a little edging.

Weekend Other WIP Report

January 6, 2019 quiteayarnblog6 Comments

Schooner is sailing along! I have gotten up to the interesting part now. You can see the V-neck opening is just started, and you can’t really see it, but I have started the armhole decreases. I think it should start to go fast now! I just keep decreasing for the V-neck, do a few more… Continue reading Weekend Other WIP Report

Weekend WIP Report

January 5, 2019 quiteayarnblog8 Comments

The Fade continues fading away. The lavender color has so much pink in it that it looks like I’m still doing the fade striping, but I’m not – it’s all the lavender 🙂 I’ve still got several more rows of the garter section, then on to the next lace section, and so on to infinity.… Continue reading Weekend WIP Report

2018 Wrap-Up

January 1, 2019 quiteayarnblog9 Comments

2018 was a year with a lot of firsts and also a few ends. I went to my first Vogue Knitting Live and had a great time. I tried a lot of new techniques and fibers and generally got fairly adventurous. As far as ends, two dyers that I loved and bought from often –… Continue reading 2018 Wrap-Up

Schooner Progress

December 29, 2018 quiteayarnblog5 Comments

My Schooner has a back! Or ‘stern’ in nautical boat talk. But in any case – it’s blocking now – very happy with how it is turning out 🙂 Whew! Almost halfway done! Schooner is a tank, so I just need to knit the front, sew the two halves together, then knit some ribbing around… Continue reading Schooner Progress

Fading the Gray Away

December 28, 2018 quiteayarnblog4 Comments

By my own knitting project rotation schedule, I should have been working on my Schooner today. However, it was such a gray, overcast and colorless day outside that I decided on my Find Your Fade instead. I even managed to sneak in a couple of rows at lunch. My coworkers loved the colors – one… Continue reading Fading the Gray Away

Knit knit knit

December 27, 2018 quiteayarnblog12 Comments

I have been working away on my Schooner, but it all looks like a bit more of this… So the same as before, just a bit more of it! In other news – hope everyone who celebrates had a Merry Christmas? Ours was pretty nice. We got to sleep in (since we have no kids,… Continue reading Knit knit knit

Fading Away

December 26, 2018 quiteayarnblog10 Comments

My Find Your Fade is finally fading to the next color! I think I may actually have left it a little too long before changing color, but whatever, it’s in progress now!

Wednesday WIP

December 19, 2018 quiteayarnblog10 Comments

Schooner is coming along – I’m a few inches past where I had to rip back, so I’m happy with that. Now it’s just straight stockinette for what will likely feel about like forever, then a bit of excitement binding off a few stitches for the armholes, then on to the shoulders. On the one… Continue reading Wednesday WIP
