I swear one of these weeks I will have a post other than the mid-weekly progress report! I have some new knitting books to review and some adventures to report. But today is not that day. Today it’s just another progress report. But at least my two main current projects are moving!

I’m into the lace border of the Ocean Sunset shawl.

And part of the way into clue 5 of 6 on my Who Ya Gonna Shawl KAL!
I’m hoping to get at least one of these two done in the next week or so. I’d like to get back to Powdermill, and there are a few other new projects calling my name.
How are your projects going?
Working on a lace shawl. It is the most frustrating and mind-boggling project I’ve done in a long while. It’s like knitting holes together. The yarn is lace weight and it slips off the needles easily, which makes mistakes hopeless to repair. I’ve already started over once. And just when I want to throw it across the room, I look at it and think it is one of the most beautiful things I’ve made. That thudding sound is me hitting my head on the wall.

Hang in there – it will be amazing!

I feel your pain. Because of its propensity to float away, I gave up on knitting with laceweight yarn years ago. Now I use it doubled, or held together with a weightier yarn.

You’re making great progress on the sunset shawl!
I’ve finished two projects in the last week, and immediately started another so I still have two on the go 😊

A crochet dinosaur toy for a wee pal’s 2nd birthday, and a long cardigan for myself (it’s so much longer than originally planned 😁)

The Ocean Sunset Shawl border is so pretty!

It is! The designer gave us two lace border options with this shawl. For this version I am using a different one from the one I initially did. Both are pretty, but I’m glad I’m doing the different one now 🙂

You are cruising on your projects. Mine feel stagnant. I don’t even feel like working on socks. One of these days I’ll get my knitting motivation back.

It does! I didn’t get it for the longest time. Now I’m looking forward to finishing 🙂 It’s a fun knit, but it will be an even more fun shawl to wear!

I went back to an old project from last year (linen top) but then immediately started a new project (another Ebb and Flow cowl with gradient minis) because I needed something super simple for multi-tasking.
And now I have 2 design ideas percolating in my head. I’m usually a monogamous knitter, so I have to figure out how to deal with all the IDEAS. I was talking out loud to myself during aqua fit class in the pool, and the instructor thought I was singing along and said I could sing louder. Ummm, “two colors, this one for the edge, blah blah blah” isn’t a very good song!

LOL! IT might be!
Do you keep an idea notebook or journal at all?

I do have a design notebook, but I’ve fallen out of habit of using it! I bought a new one last month: It’s an 8.5 x 11” spiral bound grid paper notebook. I try to get a new one each year, and use it kind of like a bullet journal. Table of contents, and then projects behind that. Looks like it’s time to start the new one!

Thank you! I am just in love with them. They are not my usual colors to knit or wear at all, but they are just so beautiful!
