Other than some socks I am starting for DH, my only current WIP is a new pair of mittens

The pattern is Burnished Mittens (Rav link), the July project in AC Knitwear‘s Confident Knitting club. They were designed by Lily Kate France, and are an enjoyable knit. The technique for this month is Vikkel braids, which you see there on either side of the colorwork part. The yarn is from Old Maiden Aunt, which has a really lovely depth of color and is really nice to knit with.

Here’s a slightly more closeup picture to show off the braids a little better and also the nice tidy increase for the thumb. They are going pretty well – I’m hoping to have them done by the end of the month.
What WIPs are you working on, and how are they going?
I enjoy knitting mittens and gloves. This design looks like a fun one.

It is! Just enough novelty to be interesting, but mostly pretty straightforward.

And a quick knit!

Those are going to be super. I really liked this pattern. Have I started mine? Of course not. Why break with tradition now?

You will get around to them when you are ready! 🙂

I’m about to hit the third round of decreases for waist shaping on my sweater. I need to organize my week like I used to so I don’t get the tendonitis to flare up again and so I don’t rush to finish a sewing project.

Sounds like you are making great progress 🙂 That is a good idea – definitely want to take it easy and not hurt yourself!
