From my perilously low one project on the needles this past weekend, I’m back up to the usual three! Two is the Elizabeth Montague socks of earlier post fame. Today’s start is the Patina scarf from AC Knitwear’s Confident Knitting technique club, and the technique is embroidering on knitting. First you have to knit your scarf.

Patina was designed by Jeanette Sloan and is an easy to knit slip stitch pattern. As you can see I don’t have much of a start on it, but it seems like it will be a reasonably quick project. Once the item is knit, then it’s embroidery time! So that will be in a while.

The scarf itself is knit with 2 skeins of Schoppel Gradient DK, and the embroidery is done with 2 strands of Zauberball. My gradient colorway is Tea Ceremony/Teezeremonie and the Zauberball colorway is Autumn is Timeless/Herbstzeislos. I’m enjoying it so far!
Those are pretty colors.

They are! I got the kit from AC Knitwear, so they were a surprise. Not what I would normally do, but they are pretty π

That will be a very interesting knit!

Your knitting sounds like my reading – I like to have several things going at the same time. Less chance for boredom! π
Embroidering on knitting sounds awesome! And way above my skill level.

That’s an interesting looking yarn – are they quite thick singles? Love the colours as always as well as your adventurous knitting π

You are right – the yarn is very thick, slightly felted singles. Thank you!
