Agriculture Report

Well, it’s been a week since we planted our seedlings, and mostly they seem to be doing OK. The hanging baskets and pots on the balcony are hanging in there, though they’re a little weedy at this point. But they will fill in 🙂

The plants by the walkway, however…

I don’t think these guys are going to pull through. Oh well. Off to the home store!

If you are gardening or yardening this year, how is it going?

    1. Yep, one or two sad little marigolds made it. I got new ones from the home store and replaced all the others. Not sure what happened – possibly I didn’t harden off my seedlings enough? Oh well, live and learn 🙂

      1. I made a caprese salad last night, and noticed that something is eating my basil. I did not see any insects, but wouldn’t a critter mow it down rather than nibble on a leaf?

  1. What’s the difference between a garden and a yard? Here a backyard would have a concrete floor, like my old Victorian terraced house had, because it used to have an outside toilet originally. But anything with grass is a garden. Is that the same there? Slugs will eat marigolds perhaps they had a bumper meal one night.
