Got my mosaic knitting project done this evening! I cheated a little on the colors for the final two pattern sections. But I was running low on the neon peach, and thought that throwing a little accent section of blue would look nice anyway. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out ๐
It was a fun practice piece, and let me do a little experimenting with color and with varying some stitch techniques. A couple of things that I have read over the years defined mosaic as always being done in garter stitch, and that anything stockinette was just slipped stitches. I don’t know how accurate that is, but I got to try both ways with one of the patterns, and it definitely gives different effects.
I’m enjoying trying out different techniques this year! As a bonus, I’m using up at least a little of the stash, and also I thing I will have a lot of cowls for Christmas presents this year ๐
Congratulations on getting finished. It looks good. ๐

That looks great. Was it as fun to knit as it looks like it would be?

It was pretty fun! It really just slipped stitches in pattern, but trying a few things out, like the garter vs. stockinette section made it more interesting ๐

Wow! That seemed to go fast! I was wondering what you do with all of your practice pieces. Your friends benefit from your practice! ๐

Mostly I keep everything I knit. This “giving things away” concept is a new one for me. But there is a limit as to how many cowls I can usefully possess. So hopefully someone will want some of them ๐

I canโt remember if I added Mosiac knitting to my list of things to learn, or whether I was waiting to see your FO first. Definitely going to give this a try myself, youโve done a lovely job.

It’s a kind of fun thing to try – you will have fun with it! I have seen some pretty nifty effects done with this technique – will be neat to explore ๐ You are very kind ๐
