I finally got done with v 1 of my cowl design! This started with the creativity exercises from the Kate Davies Knitting Season club. I’m still not 100% satisfied with it, though it does looks OK and does pretty much what is is supposed to do ๐
As I next step, I need to document everything I did with this one. Then I have a couple quick projects I’d like to get done, and after that, version 2! This version is kind of scratchy to wear, but I’m glad I did it in a durable, hardy yarn, as I did do a lot of ripping back and reknitting. This yarn is tough as iron – it doesn’t show the wear at all. However, that means it’s a little rough to wear. So I may use this as an outer cowl in cold weather, but probably not just for everyday wear. Not unless it softens up a lot on subsequent washings.

Itโs lovely! I really like the textures.

It’s so cool how it fades from a dense design to a sparse one. Great job!

Ooh I really like this pattern. I love how it goes from very tight together to more spread out. I hope you can get the yarn to soften up a bit so it’s more comfortable. I’m in the process of starting to try to soften up a bunch of old projects made with super cheap, scratchy yarn, so I feel you, haha.

Thank you! Softening up yarn can be a bit of a chore for sure!
