I’m Back!

I’ve been away, first for a fun yarn-related event I will write more about soon, and then for work. I am catching up on reading everyone’s blogs and will be back to writing my own on a somewhat regular basis. But I’m back now, just in time to show off my finished pair of socks for Sock It To Me Monday.

My super loud summer socks! The yarn is a Florida Oranges sock set from Cashmere and Coconuts, who has a shop on Etsy. I just did my regular 2 at a time, toe up socks. Usually I do toes and heels with the contrast miniskein, but this time decided to do something a little bit different. I don’t know that I would want to do all striped socks going forward, but the stripes are kind of fun for this pair!

I took a page from my DH’s foot modeling book and just let the socks tell me how they wanted to be shown off.

Whew! DH says he’s worked with better, but not many.

These are easily the fastest finish for socks I’ve ever done. I started 4/6 and finished yesterday. But then, they were all I worked on during my travels. So that’s one way I can get myself to concentrate!

  1. Those socks look great! I love the color combination.

I know what you mean about not wanting to always do stripes on socks. I have gotten to the point where I usually don’t do striped socks unless the yarn is self-striping, though sometimes manual stripes are the best / only way to go.
