DH’s new black socks are coming right along! I’m about half an inch or so from turning the heels, then just the leg and cuff. These socks have been getting a lot of attention lately, because they are my go-to for calls and meetings and so on. I’m not using a pattern, just my regular recipe.
If you knit socks, what is your favorite method and/or pattern?

Looking good. I wish I had the patience and the skill to knit socks. Using dark yarn is no easy task on the eyes either. I admire your talent.

You must love your DH a lot to knit him socks with black yarn. My latest favorite sock knitting method is toe-up using two cable needles and the Turkish cast-on. I also really like contrasting colors for the toe and cuff.

I do! That is my go-to method as well – it’s efficient, I think. Contrasting toes and cuffs always look great!

I like mixing up my sock patterns a bit for variety, but I think my favorite in terms of fit is the Basic Knee High Toe Up Socks by Leslie @ Single Stitch. (Even if I don’t always make them knee-high.) I just really like the way the heel fits on that pattern.

That is a good idea! I like the idea of mixing it up with the sock patterns, but kind of freeze when it comes time to pick one. So I just wind up going with my basic.

I have a couple of sock patterns that are go-tos when I can’t decide what I want to knit (the one I mentioned before, plus the Vanilla Latte sock and the Rose City Rollers for shortie socks) but my Ravelry queue has so many sock patterns in it that finding something new is pretty easy for me.
