As Liz from HighlandHeffalump would say, there’s a moose loose aboot my hoose!

This young lady snacked on our birch for a little while, stood in our driveway for a few minutes, then calmly wandered off past our neighbor’s house.

So big! Are they dangerous or do they mosey away when they see people?

They are big! Mostly they just mind their own business, but if they are agitated they have a mean kick. They can be dangerous if they are riled up.

Our favorite childrens book was I Don’t Care Said the Bear. In the book the line goes There’s a Moose on the Loose. I don’t care said the Bear with his nose in the air”. It goes on with a Bad Tempered Goose, a Pig who is Big, a Snake from a Lake, a Wolf from the North, and a Teeny Weeny Mouse! My girls loved it.

It varies. It’s been about once a week here lately!

Wow! Sheโs lovely. I saw one, a large male with a full rack, when we lived in Maine. Theyโre something to watch.

That’s so cool. The only wildlife I see in my yard (well, patio) are squirrels and birds. ๐

Squirrels are birds are cool too ๐ We don’t get moose that often, but it’s always a treat when we do.

I do like seeing and hearing the birds. Squirrels are a love/hate relationship, though, since I suspect they are nesting in our attic…
