Hope the landside people are ok. Looks beautiful but rugged.

It is beautiful! Yes, everyone is OK – no injuries. For the people that are trapped on the other side of the landslide, there is a water taxi that is running them to town as needed, so they aren’t without supplies and so on.

Yup! There’s one in Seward, and 3 or 4 in Anchorage, and more beyond that 🙂

Wow, this is a lovely spot! We went to Alaska once (via cruise ship) but there was so much more to see than we were able to fit in.

There is an awful lot to see! Cruising seems like a wonderful way to see a lot of the scenery up here 🙂

Your pictures are beautiful! I worked summers on Kodiak at a salmon cannery, a very long time ago to pay for college. Someday I’ll see more of Alaska!
That landslide took quite a chunk of hillside. I’m glad there’s a water taxi.

Oh my goodness – that had to be an adventure! Kodiak is really beautiful, though I suspect working in the canneries is pretty exhausting.
Yes, so glad people can still get supplies and so on, and even more glad no one was hurt. That’s something of a miracle, as it’s a heavily travelled road.
