Yesterday I just got overwhelmed with the need to start on my Fall/Halloween knitting, so I set aside the Just Beachy shawl and Arrowhead cardigan for the moment and got going!

I’m starting out with the Roam shawl from Chasing Rabbits Fibers, using the assigned pooling technique. The yarn is Silky Solo in the Boheme colorway from Chasing Rabbits. I had actually bought the yarn to use in another one of their patterns, Calico, but decided this pattern was much more what I was looking for.
Here is a closer view of the stitch pattern:

Other than this, my Fright Night socks are moving along pretty well. I’m hoping to have one of these things done by October 1st, when Ambah O’Brien’s Betwixt shawl comes out and her Halloween KAL starts!
What are you working on now, and how is it going?
I love that yarn, and the stitches are just fabulous!! I agree that this design is really nice. Dang. Now I have to go to my local yarn store to check out all of the Chasing Rabbits yarn…

I love this yarn and pattern too 🙂 I hope you find some good yarn and give it a try too! You did your socks in a modified version of this technique, right?

I did do the socks in a modified AP technique. I really liked how it worked out. I went to my LYS this week and bought two more skeins of the Chasing Rabbits yarn and am thinking more socks. 🙂

so pretty! It will looks really neat as it keeps getting bigger too! I totally know about wanting to get things off the needles before MKALs, I just cast off my blanket last night, so I only have long term things before the west knits mkal starts

Yup – sometimes you just need to clear the deck 🙂 Looking forward to seeing your West Knits shawl!

That stitch pattern is sooo cool. Would it work for any variegated yarn?

I suspect so. You would probably want to pick one that wasn’t too crazy, but it would very probably work fine!

I am making project bags/drawstring bags. I can’t wait to share the one I am making from fabric with yarn balls on it – so cute to hold my knitting (well my imaginary knitting because I have no knitting on the needle right now…but I do have crochet dishcloths..)
