Well, it had to happen sometime. I have never actually worn out any of my handknit socks – until today.

One of my Heart of Sharkness socks wore right through! I didn’t notice until I went to wash them today and saw this. I thought about trying to darn them, but it’s a pretty broad hole. And I looked at the other one, and the sole was wearing thin on that one in a couple of places too. So out they went. I may well reknit these – there were a couple things about them I wished I had done differently.
They were well loved.

I was so pained when I wore out my first hand knit but once I realized I was able to make another I didn’t mind as much:)

Very true! I have a drawer full of socks, and also a bin full of yarn for making more socks. I liked these ones, but there are plenty more to be made!

I suspect my socks will go at my big toe first. I must walk with them sticking up as I have worn toe holes in most slippers I’ve owned.

that’s too bad! But hopefully it will give you a chance to re-knit something you really enjoyed!
