For my next project, I am going back to the plan!

I’m making the Buttoned Wrap Skirt from Churchmouse Yarns & Teas, using some Debbie Bliss Milano from my stash. I did a swatch last night, and the yarn is slightly off of gauge. The pattern calls for a slightly heavier yarn than this, but I was going to adjust the pattern slightly anyway, so I think it will work out. I’m pretty excited to get going on this – this project has been in my queue for a couple years now. So hopefully, I will get a good start on it this long weekend!
Have any new project starts coming up?
Hi Marilee. Sorry I haven’t been around for a while, life has been fairly full on. I’ve just been doing a bit of a catch up with your posts and hope to be able to keep up to date a bit better from now on. Karen (previously The Eclectic Handcrafter).

Hi Karen! So nice to “see” you again! I hope life has been full with good things? What have you been up to? How are you and your family doing? What are you working on?

Thank you, it’s good to be back. We are well thanks. I have been working a lot which is good financially but has been very tiring. My husband and I managed to get away on a road trip down the South Island recently. It was a combined business trip for him and a visit to our daughter’s place for her children’s birthdays. I finally finished the vest I made up the pattern for while we were away, and also made a pair of gloves each for the 2 grandchildren before we left. Trying to decide on my next project now.

Oooh! I’ll be glad if I can finish Arachne this weekend. I’m on the sleeves, so it shouldn’t be long now.

You will definitely be done soon! Yours is looking lovely! How does your yarn amount look for the sleeves?

I am going to be fine for the short sleeves! I accidentally knit the sleeves on the smaller needle. Oops. But I don’t think you can tell.

As long as it fits comfortably, it will be fine 🙂 It looks great!

This looks like a fun pattern! It really like the yarn.
I’m nearly through the first skein of the baby blanket. I’m hoping 4-5 skeins will do it. I am itching to cast on something new but I haven’t decided what just yet:)

It does look fun! Mostly plain knitting, with a bit of shaping here and there to keep it from being 100% mindless. Looking forward to seeing your baby blanket!

That will be a great project. Is that more black yarn?

LOL – it’s got a little color in it – there’s some blue and white flecks. Though mostly, yes, black 🙂

That will be such a cool skirt! I just finished a baby boy Gramps by TinCan and now casting on a tried and true Sirdar pattern for a baby girl. And all the quilting stuff too!!
