I recently decided it was time to go through my stash. It has been getting a little out of hand lately. I got a start Sunday afternoon – I excluded all the cats from our room, spread out an old sheet, and dumped everything out from a couple of bins. It took an hour or two, but I did get that lot organized and lightly pruned. And also checked it all in my stash spreadsheet.
I still do have a bit to do yet, so this evening I thought I’d do another bin or two. However, I forgot to close the doors. So the second a bin lid opened, there were all three cats, “helping”. One started to climb into the bin, another poked his head over the side of the bin and started sniffing, while the third decided the lid would be great place for a nap.
So, no organizing tonight. Maybe tomorrow!
Do any of your pets like to “help” you with your activities?
I only started to learn knitting after my cats died, but I’m sure they’d have loved to have helped. If I worked from home they loved to sit on my knee and then would head to the warmth of the keyboard 😂. Ylva gives everything a sniff when it comes in but apart from that she’s not interested.

🙂 A couple of mine are fascinated by the computer as well 🙂

You are brave! Good luck with the organising and documenting. Hope you find some nice surprised you’d forgotten about (and don’t lose a cat in the bin!)

LOL – thank you! I almost certainly will find some surprises. They are too vocal to get left in a bin!

Yay for stash sorting! I find it very satisfying. We don’t have a cat yet so I managed to sort mine in peace, but I’ll have to work out how to keep my yarn safe when the shelters open again and we can finally get a kitty.

It is very satisfying! For all that they kind of complicate things, I wouldn’t be without them 🙂 Looking forward to hearing about your adventures when you can get a cat 🙂

JoJo likes to sit on my lab and chew on my needles when I’m knitting. I don’t think she’s trying to help, though. Good for you! Getting your stash organized. I think it’s time to update my Ravelry stash!

I don’t think mine are actually trying to help either 🙂 Occasionally one of mine will try to play with the yarn a little bit while sitting on my lap, but mostly they are older and can’t really be bothered. It is a lot of work keeping it all updated!

Morgan helps me write blogs. Oddly her words are a very different language. She can turn on the printer and has printed a document. I have no idea how. She also knows how to engage the lady who talks in my computer (Alexa? Sirius? Janet?). Clumsy paws and floofy tails do a lot.

If they just had thumbs they could do the work:)
Myles loves to help with the laundry. I’m sure you can guess what that’s like:)

Mine love to help on my photo shoots of quilt tops on the floor. They must inspect and walk all over them to see if they pass muster. LOL

That sounds familiar 🙂

It feels so good to organize a stash. Wrigley likes to help me organize by napping on whatever I’m working on. She likes it when my wool smells like dog.

She is a good helper! The cats like to lay on my projects too. They are less happy when I lay the projects on them 🙂

I need to do the same thing. I swear my cat has yarn radar. If I’m even touching my yarn she’s right there in a second!

You know Calvin and Biscuit love to join the photo shoots!

Haha that sounds great! I organized ask my stash when I moved and it was immensely satisfying. My cat doesn’t really care about my knitting or really much of anything haha. He’s friendly but doesn’t get in the way too much!
