Sock It To Me Monday

My Shark 3D socks are done!

Finally got to use some natural light – hopefully it will show the shark a little better, though still not great. The sock on the left is the top of the foot and is his eyes and gills, which are going the wrong direction. The sock on the right is his mouth. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. This pattern has some problems. And the yarn, which was the kit the pattern came with, does not do it any favors. The tonal nature of the yarn hides the stitch patterning, which is not very pronounced.

But in any case, they are done, they fit very well, and they are comfy. Good enough!

  1. It is sad when a kit doesn’t live up to the expectations. I wonder if anyone has written to them to tell them how disappointing it was. So, what is the next pattern you will be casting on? You help me keep my sock mojo alive.

    1. This kit was from a couple years ago, and the designer has disappeared from Ravelry and elsewhere on the internet, so no recourse but to crab a little bit on my blog πŸ™‚ And honestly, it is still a well-fitting sock, so I don’t have too much to complain about except the shark part. I was just wondering which socks were next myself! What are you working on these days?

      1. I have scatterby socks on my needles as well as 3 shawls. I am concerned the scatterby socks are going to be too tight. But then, they aren’t for me so they might be ok.
