Great American Read & Glenesk

I’m going to start with something a little off topic – PBS’s The Great American Read!  To give a broad overview, this is an 8 part series about America’s 100 best-loved books.  The launch special introducing the books and the series concept just aired. Meredith Viera hosts the series, which is basically about how awesome books – specifically novels – are and how much they can impact your life. The show is going to be augmented by events at local libraries and bookstores to encourage people to read the books on the list and to vote for their favorites.  In fall the series will pick up again, leading to the finale in October where the top book will be announced.  Our library just sent out an email announcement that they are running some events this summer – I’m there! Mr. QuiteaYarn and I plan to being by reading The Martian together, and we’ll see where we go from there.   If you love books and reading, check it out!

Also, I made a little progress on Glenesk – behold, a sleeve begins!

  1. I remember seeing aunt Ruth always reading a book while she was eating her lunch.
