Finally done with my first Nessie sock!
I will say for anyone thinking about doing this project, I have size 10 feet, and the large size is pretty loose on me. So if I were to do this again, I’d probably do the medium size, or possibly go down to size 0 needles. The heck of it with patterned socks is you don’t have quite the flexibility with stitch count as you do with regular old plain socks. It isn’t falling off, but it definitely isn’t the nice snug fit I would prefer.
On the other hand, they have the Loch Ness monster on them, and the yarn is a sparkly gradient, so they are still a big win in my book! Next week – sock #2 🙂
Great sock! I wonder if it’s the colorwork that loosens up your gauge. That is what has happened with my helical striped Rose City Rollers. I should have cast on fewer stitches…

That could definitely be the problem! It does change the gauge for sure. Oh well, next time!

Is there shrinkage with washing? I crocheted a jacket looking sweater cover many decades ago and was so disappointed as it was big. Way big. I washed and it shrank but also felted a bit. I only wore once or twice. That was the end of my crocheting days.

There can be – I’m holding out a little hope it works out that way 🙂 Sorry about your jacket – it is disappointing when things like that happen!

Oh too bad they don’t fit how you want:(. It does look amazing though!
