With only a bare minimum of effort and angst, I am back to where I was when I had to rip out my work. Observe!
What I did this time around was heed excellent advice from the Sanquhar Knitting Group forum on Ravelry, and also did a little recalculating. Specifically, the advice was to purl two rows in the main color before getting started on the ribbing on the cuff. The recalculating I did was to change to spacing, and also to re-chart the date that you see in the little box. I had it charted differently last time, but now it is going well.
But wait! the observant reader might say. Wasn’t the purpose of this restart to fix mistakes? And don’t I see a mistake on this very glove?
Riiiiiiight THERE. Yes, observant reader. You do see a mistake. Rather 5 of them – miscounted stitches in the one row. As soon as I saw them, I realized I could duplicate stitch over them and it will look fine. That is assuming I remember they are there by the time this pair of gloves is done. So, as is my general practice, I am ignoring them for now.
Anyway! Onward and upward! The next post will be more about these sanquhar gloves I keep talking about. What are they? Where do they come from? What’s their story? Check back to find out!
