My cardigan is finally done!! Patten is Drops 106-11 Jacket with Shawl Collar. (Ravelry link) The yarn is Tivoli Collezione S. Charles (?) 52% silk and 48% kid mohair, so it is beautifully drapey. It was just plain white, but Alissa of Headknits custom dyed it for me. She used a very cool technique that… Continue reading Saturday Sweaterday!
I have a couple of WIPs going right now, but the one I haven’t talked about recently here is my Halloween sweater I’m past the main colorwork area and have separated out the sleeves, so it’s just straight stockinette for a while. I will be doing a smaller colorwork band at the hem, and the… Continue reading Wednesday WIP
I didn’t have a whole lot of time to knit tonight, but I did get a little bit done on sleeve #2. Two more rows in the allover pattern, and then I start to do the sleeve decrease and just the arrow and moon pattern down the center of the sleeve. Starting to see a… Continue reading Ixchel – Sleeve #2
Well, I pretty much gave away the point of this post in the title 🙂 My Ixchel body is done, and I am knitting away on the first sleeve. There are a lot of rows to go on the sleeve, but it is flying along because there are so many fewer stitches than for the… Continue reading Ixchel – Body Done, Sleeve 1 in Process!
My Ixchel sweater is coming along pretty well! I have about 25 rows left for the body, and then ribbing. Toward the bottom, where I am now, the stars start to thin out, and there are a lot of rows with 12 or more stitches between single gold stitches. So I decided to go back… Continue reading Ixchel Update
Still moving along with Ixchel I spent a lot of today doing some cleaning and also decorating for Halloween, so didn’t get to focus on it as much as I might have otherwise. Also, the yoke size is increasing, like they do, so each row takes a little while. However – it’s moving along! Still… Continue reading Ixchel Again
Ixchel progresses! It’s coming along pretty well, and I’m enjoying watching the colors reveal themselves! There are a lot of repeats of smallish patterns between the big central ones on the front and back, so it’s just interesting enough to keep me out of trouble 🙂 It is moving along pretty quickly, too!
As yet more proof that I can be thrown off my plan by almost anything, this week I started knitting the Ixchel (apparently pronounced ee-SHELL), a pattern that did not exist in my world up until a month ago or so. This in spite of having kits in my possession for up to three years… Continue reading Ixchel!
I finally did something I’ve been meaning to do for a while now – got a Custom Fit sweater pattern! Custom Fit is a program/website created by Amy Herzog that you can use to generate sweater patterns designed to your specification and measurements. You can choose one of her designs and just get it the… Continue reading Custom Fit
