That Just Flew By!

I’m back! I didn’t actually go anywhere, life just kind of got crazy over the last two weeks. I will post later this week with knitting stuff and catch up on everyone’s blogs as well. But in other news…

Our town got a bookstore! Knuth Book Cellar opened last Friday, and we went in to check them out

The book selection was a little sparse, but it was their first day, so I’m guessing it will fill out over time. They have both new and used books and plan to continue with that as their business model. I bought the Wednesday cookbook, mainly to support them and also because it looked like fun. No knitting books yet, but I am hoping some appear! We shall see.

It is a nice space with a bar – so kind of a bookshop/lounge situation. I can definitely see hanging out there once in a while. They are affiliated with a brewery/restaurant situated across the street, which I think is probably the reason the bar is included 🙂

That is not what’s been keeping me busy – that would be school and work and life – but it is nice to have a bookstore so close!

What’s exciting and new where you are?

      1. Sadly at this point, I download rather than buy just because of downsizing issues. Back in the day, I was one of their biggest customers. The first downsizing we did saw 30 boxes of books donated.

  1. That looks a lovely space to hang out. I used to love going to Borders as it had such a relaxed vibe and being able to get a drink (albeit a hot drink) and read was so cool and we have had nothing to replace it here. I hope you have some good times hanging out there.

    1. Yes, definitely! It is directly connected to a coffee and cookie place next door, and I think there is the possibility of bringing coffee and cooking over to the bookstore space! It is promising for sure. Borders was nice to hang out in!

  2. Woo hoo new bookstore! I’ve been a bit MIA on the blog lately too, because my new thing (new job!) has been taking nearly all of my brainpower. The job itself isn’t too difficult, but it’s *new* and therefore currently requires a lot of brainpower. (The downside of staying at one job for nearly 10 years is you forget how to adjust to a new job, LOL.)
