Melville is Done!

At very long last, my Melville pullover is finished!

Forgive the terrible indoor nighttime photos. I have been challenged to do some theme pics wearing it in some sort of nautical situation, and will share those when it happens. Hopefully within the next couple weeks.

The pattern is Melville (Ravelry link), designed by Sarabeth Hall. The yarn is Knit Picks Gloss Fingering in Captain (darker color) and Clarity. Despite taking a longish time to knit, it was enjoyable. It fits really nicely, and is soft and cozy to wear.

On to the next!

  1. Wow. That turned out really nice!

    I am doing a very challenging beaded shawl. Why is it challenging?

    Because the finished measurements are 8′ x 4′;

    because it uses beads every 3 rows that are #8 tiny and I have to use a bent bread tie to thread the beads on and which disappears into the upholstery when I set it down;

    because it’s #2 needles; and finally

    BECAUSE IT’S BLACK!

    The ball of yarn comes unraveled from the outside, so I pull it from the inside. It got tangled up anyway and in untangling it, I dropped 10 stitches which I chased down 4 rows and have to un-knit rather than just unravel because I can’t see the stitches to reload them onto the needles…BECAUSE IT’S BLACK!

    Luckily, I’m not too far into it so I only have about 100 stitches on the needle instead of the 360+ when I near the bottom. It’s the Scheherazade beaded shawl in Ravelry.
