There’s a bit more to report on this week – three current WIPs!
Melville (Ravelry link) is moving along – you can see more of the whale every day. I was hoping to be a bit further along with this by now, but it’s an enjoyable knit, so that’s OK.

I’m going to be traveling over the next week and a half, so Melville is on a pause until I get back. There’s a little too much infrastructure on this project to bring it along. So I cast on a pair of regular socks, using a sock set that’s been in my stash for a few year now. The yarn is the Florida Orange sock set from Cashmere and Coconuts. That is some bright yarn! I am planning on using the contrast miniskein to do some stripes at the top of the leg rather than doing heels and toes with it.

And last but not least, I cast on my Worst Witch scarf (Ravelry link) using the coordinating miniskein set.

This is a fun knit so far, and I’m enjoying the alternating lace and slip-stitch sections. This was originally cast on as a backup travel project, but now I’m second guessing that plan. What will I take with me? Who knows. I will report back on the travel and knitting next week!
What are you working on these days?
I used to love the Worst Witch books!

I’ve never read them, but now I’m curious!

I have no idea how well they’ve stood the test of time… always a risk!

Your new projects are very colorful! Everything looks great. I know the pain of picking travel projects. I need to start thinking about that as well; I have a trip coming up where I’m still not sure what I want to bring.

I think picking projects is one of the hardest parts of travel planning!

So true! And of course, I always feel I should start the project at home to make sure I have the right yarn and needle combo, so that means I sometimes end up with a few extra items cast on that stay home because I realize as I’m setting them up that they won’t make good travel projects.

Yes! I did that exact thing with these trips! I started a shawl that was not going to be good for travel, so now that’s my second home project π
