Project

Wednesday WIPs

I’ve got two projects going right now, and making decent progress on both!

This is a hat I’m making for my Mom – the pattern is Rooftop Landing (Ravelry link). I bought this kit from my LYS. The pattern came with the yarn from Polka Dot Sheep – it is Ski Town Sport, and the colorways are Beargrass (natural) and Nessie (green). It has a nifty folded brim, and is knitting up pretty nicely!

The other is Melville (Ravelry link). I’m still on the yoke, and excited to get to the colorwork! It’s mostly boring except for the Morse code on the raglan increase section. It’s going pretty well so far. The yarn is Knit Picks Gloss fingering in Captain.

How about you? What are you working on, and how is it going?

  1. Finished the cardigan I was working on, but while knitting it, the dye rubbed off on my fingers!!! So I soaked it in water plus 1 c vinegar and it’s taking forever to dry. I’m waiting on the yarn for my next projects, so with the leftover yarn from the cardigan, I’m making another shawl.

12 months, 12 projects. 1 done. So I am ahead of the game!

  2. I admire your patience and skill to knit with such small gauge needles. The patterns you’ve chosen are really pretty. I know these projects will be lovely when you’re done. 😊

  3. The Melville pattern looks amazing, I love all the little details that other people might not notice but you’ll know they’re there.

I took my Love Note out of the naughty corner this week and now I’ve just got the sleeves to do.

  4. These are both looking great! I’m just about done with the yoke on my sweater, too… though I don’t have colorwork to look forward to on it. Luckily I love the yarn, but the rounds are so long right now that it’s intimidating to pick it up. Ah well, I’ll be splitting off the sleeves soon, so the rounds will get shorter. I look forward to seeing what’s next for your sweater! (And I’m curious about the Morse Code you mentioned at the increases.)
