Project

Wednesday WIPs

Wow – where has this last week gone? Looking back, I was crazy busy, but not with anything interesting enough to post about. But I have made some progress on my projects!

My Open Weave wrap is moving along – I think I am around halfway through. I’m about halfway done with the yarn I have for the main (blue colors), so that’s what I’m basing that guess on.

On my Homage to the Granny Square project, I have 5 done of the 9 I need for this block type, so making progress!

And even though this isn’t a project, I wanted to show off a stash enhancement I’ve been opening for the last 2 months – the Summer Camp Slasher yarn countdown from Havirland yarns. For anyone who’s been watching our Yarn Ghouls podcast, Alissa and I have been opening these half skeins during our episodes, but haven’t shown off the whole set. Alissa of Snakes & Cranes got the self-striping version, and I got the speckled version, so her yarns are somewhat different from these…

I love my yarn! The weekly half-skeins are themed to different summer camp slasher movies and books. A lot of weeks also had some fun extras along with the main yarn. I don’t often share my yarn purchases, but am really taken with these πŸ™‚

Have you gotten any new craft or activity supplies you are particularly thrilled with? Do tell!

  1. That is some prettyyyyyy yarn! I especially like the one top right.

I just discovered that there are quite a few yarn shops in Budapest, so I’ll definitely have some pretties of my own to show off when we get back.

  2. That open weave wrap is fascinating!

New supplies: More yarn for my brioche/assigned pooling experiment, but the green isn’t as deep as the skein I had before. So I frogged my previous FO to reclaim the yarn! I WILL PREVAIL. I hope.

    1. Nothing yet – trying to decide if I want to do something with all of it together or just separate projects. Or if I just want to do a pair of shorty socks with each half skein πŸ™‚
