Wednesday WIPs: Something New!

With my Shark Tooth Tee done, I’m still working on my Homage to the Granny Square class, and started a new project.

For my granny squares/color class, I have finished the 4th type of square, and have 4 more to go, but at least there are fewer of the upcoming types. So this is all of the small popcorns – on to the medium popcorns!

Over the weekend I have started on a project I have been mentally preparing for since I got the pattern and yarn earlier this year, the Open Weave wrap (Ravelry link), designed by Nancy Marchant.

I was kind of thinking this was going to be really hard, but it’s not – it’s pretty straightforward! The biggest hassle is keeping yarn ends from tangling. The yarn I’m using is & Make DK from The Fiber Co. I’m really enjoying working with it. It’s an interesting fiber blend – mostly wool and alpaca with 10% linen. The colors I’m using are Betty White (white), Hot Like Me (red), Wink (darker blue), and Potion (lighter blue). Before I started this, I was thinking it was going to take a really long time, but now I don’t think so. It’s a pretty addictive knit.

Have you ever started a project you assumed was going to be really hard and then it wasn’t?
