Adventures in Dairyland: Sprecher’s!

Saturday DH and I went to local-ish brewing company Sprecher’s! They are in the north part of Milwaukee, so not that close, but close enough for a day trip.

Sprecher’s started out as a craft beer maker that gradually morphed into making mostly sodas – which are pretty delicious. We aren’t much for beer, which is fine because it was the soda we were there for! They have all kinds of interesting sodas – cherry, grape, orange dream, Honeycrisp apple, and watermelon!

That is a watermelon-eating hodag on the label, which is another reason to love it. Also it tastes really good! Root beer is by far their most popular product, which can be gotten at Menard’s everywhere. Anyway, we went there for a tour, then a tasting, and some shopping.

They do make you put on hairnets for the tour, because you are going in their food manufacturing facility. The tour was interesting enough as these things go.

Then tasting! We got bracelets that allowed for 4 beer tastings, which we passed on, but they do unlimited soda tastings.

We didn’t do a lot of sampling – just a few things we haven’t seen in our local stores. Then we shopped! We came home with a little swag and a LOT of soda. We do have family members who like beer, so we got some sample cans for them to try out.

It was a fun little adventure – we got to see some places we hadn’t been before, and had a good time!
