DH and I went on a little trip to the nearby town of Sheboygan yesterday – more about the visit in general in a few days. While we were there, we went to the local yarn shop, The Last Sheepicorn!
This is a newish shop, but is in a lovely space and has pretty nice stock. The front of the store has some sample sweaters, notions and books.
The space is a long-standing commercial space, so has some interesting quirks to the setup. There are some walled-off sections that used to be offices. The owners are using these to separate out the different weights of yarn.
In addition to being yarnies, the owners also used to volunteer at the Hamilton Print Museum of earlier post fame, and sell letterpress cards and tags at the shop as well. I know about the print museum because I was wearing a t-shirt I got there and they recognized it immediately 🙂
They are still getting stock in gradually, but already have a nice selection of Woolstok, Malabrigo, Granny’s, and others. They also have some local yarn! I got a skein of yarn grown by Brome the sheep at the Velvet Sheep Farm right there in Sheboygan.
So all in all, a friendly, welcoming yarn shop with pretty good stock in an interesting downtown space. If you happen to be in Sheboygan, stop in!
Quite A Yarn 
What a lovely space and how cool they sell such local yarn that you can read about the sheep. And that your yarn is from a sheep that likes being petted. Another great find. Wisconsin certainly seems to have some good places to visit.

This looks like a great space! I love how they used the old offices to help you sort by yarn weight. Some yarn shops make finding a specific weight yarn very difficult—looks like this is the opposite.

What an awesome name of a shop! Sheepicorns – ha! I would want to buy a branded tote bag if they had one with a sheepicorn on it!

That is an awesome name 🙂 They did not have much merch – I think they are kind of new. But if we get back there I will be on the lookout!

What an awesome name for a yarn shop with an equally cool sign! I haven’t purchased yarn in years but I still like browsing and appreciate the creativity of a shop owner naming their business.

It is cool to see how different shop owners name and run their shops. What stock will they have, do they have books or magazines, do they carry local yarn?
