Project

Wednesday WIPs

The ant invasion of earlier post fame continues, though somewhat slowed down. I am using a combination of methods, including sugar+borax, vinegar, and STEM spray. The exterminator agreed that if it continues to the end of the week they will come back out and do the upstairs. They claim the stuff they used takes a little while to fully work, and its not unusual to see an increase in activity until it fully takes hold. So we shall see

Anyway – projects! My gansey is coming along. Just a few more rows on the cuff and sleeve #1 is done! Now for the 2nd one. I’d like to be done by the end of June, but we will see. Maybe!

The KDD Summer of Mystery MKAL shawl is on hold right now. I got clue 1 done, but then clue 2 came out and I don’t love it. So I’m waiting to see what clue 3 looks like. I may either get caught up then, frog it and use the yarn for something else, or take a different path. We will see!

I only have a few more granny blocks done on my Homage to the Granny Square class project.

Still liking my colors, so that is good!

And finally, a new project! Alissa of Snakes and Cranes and I are doing a Shark Tooth Tee KAL to get ready for Shark Week, which I am all about. Here it is so far:

The pattern for this one is Shark Tooth Tee by Jovi Geraci, and I am using Plymouth Yarns Covington, a mercerized cotton yarn. I just happened to have enough in my stash to make this, and it’s a sharky color, so that worked out well. The lace pattern is only supposed to be on the back, but I think it looks cool, and it’s an easy knit, so I’m thinking about adding it in the front too! I’ll have to wear a tank or something under this in any case, so why not? And what a break – it’s worsted weight yarn and size 8 needles, so it feels like it is going so fast!

So that’s the projects right now. What are you working on, and how is it going?

  1. Glad to year you are coping with the ants. I’m between projects on the knitting front, but since another trip is looming, I need to cast on a travel project. Right now I am sewing blocks for another lap quilt.
