Project

Friday FWIPs

Wow – where did this week go? I think it just disappeared into a cloud of general business. However, I do have some crafting progress to report!

On my gansey, I’m halfway done with the patterned part of the first sleeve. That’s a lot of qualifiers, but it’s slow going with a lot of patterning happening.

So just this again, and then I can just knit and decrease to the cuff.

My Homage to the Granny Square crochet afghan is moving along as well. I’m finished with 2 different kinds of blocks – just 8 more types to go! But there isn’t an equal number of the different kinds of squares. There were a ton of the little grannies, and only a few of the larger types. So almost halfway there.

And finally, getting there on clue one of the Kate Davies MKAL shawl.

I think this will be my Knit In Public project tomorrow, as it is easily the most portable thing I’m working on right now. And I need to get a move on with it – clue 2 comes out next week!

Are you planning on knitting in public on Saturday? If so, are you joining a group or just kind of casually going to be in public and bringing your knitting?

  1. Just finished an aran sweater in white. The yarn was listed as 4 weight, but it was so dense! I’m making another with the same pattern and different yarn, and for some reason, though both are rated a 4 (worsted) weight, the guage is just enough different that over the patterns I’m having to knit another 12 rows to get the same length. It’s an off white color, so nope, can’t knit it in public for fear of getting it dirty.

  2. Everything looks great! I love the granny squares especially, but that’s probably because they’re colorful. šŸ™‚ I may be knitting in public tomorrow, but if so it’s likely to be because I’m waiting for my family to show up for a (different family member’s) birthday celebration dinner.
