FO Friday: Crowberry Sweater!

I have, in fact, Banged Out a Sweater!

The pattern is Crowberry, from the MDK Moss Field Guide, by Helene Magnusson. Instead of the suggested yarn, I used Lettlopi. The main body color is Lapis, the lighter blue is Glacier Blue, and the vine colors are Garnet and Mimosa. I’m very happy with how the colors are working together! I did modify the pattern a little – it calls for bobbles throughout the vine section, but I opted not to include those. Once the knitting was done, I did try duplicate stitching and doing french knots where the bobbles were supposed to be, but did not love either effect. So plain knitting it is!

This sweater was started March 1 and finished last night. This is a pretty straightforward knit, and the colorwork is not complicated at all, so I think anyone wanting to try out colorwork would find this a good one to start with.

Have any recent FOs to talk about? Do tell!

  1. Congratulations! Bang Out a Sweater month is really satisfying when you actually do it! Your sweater looks great. I did the Bang Out a Sweater the first year MDK did it, and it was Maryjane Mucklestone’s Stopover also in Lopi. Such a great loose gauge quick knit!

Now to see if you can wear it before it gets too warm. Spring is coming! (It finally stopped raining today; this week is spring break and it has been traditionally soggy.)

    1. Thank you! I was really satisfying! A lot of what I knit is fiddly and smaller gauge, so it was fun to just knock something out πŸ™‚ I did wear it out yesterday. It was fairly cool here, so it was a good outer layer.
