Wednesday WIPs – Gansey Progress

I’m finally far enough along to show off the pattern details! It is moving along nicely. It’s just at the point where I can start to do the underarm gussets. Then there’s still a lot to do, but at least I’m at a landmark of sorts 🙂

I did quite a few modifications to the stitch patterns. The arrow pattern you see is something I made up to replace a pattern element (pine tree) that was bugging me. Also, I flipped half of the cables so they reverse direction on opposite sides of the central panel (the big diamond). I’m enjoying this yarn, which has a somewhat tighter twist than I’m used to. I was a little worried it was going to turn out stiff, but so far it’s not bad. It’s not drapey, but it’s not stiff as a board either.
