Project

Eh

The new doorway curtains are done! Did my devil-may-care pattern-less method work? Eh. Sort of.

Original lace curtains. Problems – no heat retention, easily see-through at night.

New knitted curtains.

Solved: keep out the cold better, not see-through at night. Sounds good, right?

Problems – not quite wide enough. Substantially too long.

Actually, they were just long enough, but then I decided to wash them and very lightly block them. That was not a good idea. There are bottom bars from the original curtains, and I might loop the new curtains under them and fasten them up so they are partially doubled. Or I might let them alone. If there is a next time for this project, I will make them a couple inches wider and a bit shorter.

So I’m calling it a partial success, and good enough for the time being 🙂

Do you have any project partial successes? Did you just roll with how it they turned out, or did you redo?

  1. I decided to do a poncho for one of my grandkids. The gauge was wayyyyy off, but I figured it would fit because I was using an adult pattern and this way I wouldn’t have to recalculate. Well, it was cute! But… the neckline was not stretchy and she couldn’t pull it over her head! oops.
