It’s been an busy time here, but hopefully things are slowing down to the point that I’ll have time again to get caught up with reading everyone’s blogs and even post my own!
What I’ve mostly been doing is fixing up our kitchen. It’s functional and in decent shape, but I wanted to update the look a bit before we got settled in and it was too hard to do anything with it. We started out with this:
Perfectly nice, but just not to my taste. A full kitchen redo is not in the budget right now, so I had to make do with what is basically here. We painted and did new knobs, wallpaper and chair rail. And I tried something I had never done before – tiling! I decided a new backsplash would be the way to tie the orange to a different color scheme.
We have a few more things to do – not everything is in place yet. But here are some cool outlet/switchplate covers I found.
We still have a few rooms to paint, and are waiting on flooring guys to install flooring before we can really start to settle in. But I feel like this room was the hard part in a lot of ways.
I have been knitting, not as much as previously, but some. Back soon with Halloween Cat sweater progress pics 🙂

Thank you! I’m not going to take too close of a picture though – there are some parts that didn’t get that great. But close enough 🙂

The tiling is awesome and that is a smart refresh of the kitchen! It will be fun (no, no, don’t think of tiring, it is all worth it!) to make your new house your home!
