Off to the Frog Pond

You may recall my Solstice shawl of earlier post fame. Well, here’s what it looks like now…

It was about halfway done by the end of last week, and I just wasn’t happy with it. I like the pattern. I like the yarn. But it just wasn’t coming together. But that is OK. Sometimes you have to mess around with a project a bit to make it the best it can be. So back to the drawing board!

Probably not right away though.

How are your projects going?

  1. I just cast on for a new cowl design, and I’m about to frog it and start over because…well, because I already don’t like it! It’s planning-heavy at the beginning, and then it should be fine, but it starts with the ending edging and goes decreasing up to the top. Because the motif needs to be upright, not upside down! It would be so much easier from the other end…blergh

  2. I’m a bit sad that your shawl is no more. But now that I can look at the yarn colors in a pile, I would say that there seems to be insufficient value contrast. Maybe that’s what didn’t look right to you.
