When I wrote about (Ravelry link) this project a few weeks ago, several people indicated they would be interested in a KAL. That would definitely be a way to bring the fun back into this weird, terrible year. So who’s in?
If you are interested in doing a KAL, then please answer me these questions three:
– When would you like to do this? November? December? An entirely different time?
– Would you like to do a Skype meetup or two to actually knit it together while being apart?
– Are you planning on making it from stash, or are you ordering a kit? (If people are ordering kits, then we would want to wait a little bit to get started. Otherwise, we can go to it! )
I don’t think it will take a lot of time – from the finished projects, people seem to be getting them done in a week or two. One was even finished in a day! It can also be done in pretty much any gauge, so it definitely lends itself to using scraps.
Edited to add: I notice that several of the kits referenced on the Ravelry pattern page are sold out. For anyone who wants to knit it but would need to buy miniskeins, there are shops on Etsy that sell single miniskeins in a lot of different colors. One is Teton Yarn Company, another is Pancake and Lulu. I know you guys probably know that, but just in case you aren’t an Etsy junkie 🙂 Also, if you know of another place to stock up on miniskeins, let us know in the comments!
I’m in! I can do November or December. I got a kit from Arkansas Yarn Co. and it is already here. I would love skype knitting!

Ooh yes please! I’d love to skype knit, but that might throw a spanner in the works with me being in an entirely different timezone. I would not be offended if everyone skype-d without me. And I would definitely be using up scraps.

Awesome! We may well be able to set up a time that will work for everyone – once we have a date range decided, then we can look at dates.

Hi! I’m the designer of this ornament and am glad to hear it struck a chord with with you. Two things:
I’m running a KAL for this from October 24 to November 7, and there are PRIZES, so feel free to enter! The link to the details is at https://www.ravelry.com/discuss/kino-knits/4073102/, but if you’re not using Ravelry, you can DM me via Instagram at @kinoknits, and we’ll work something out.
Secondly, if you run a local KAL to this group, let me know! I’d be happy to donate a pattern or two as prizes.
Thanks!
Mary
