Crafting News Update

For you crafty folk here in blogville, some items that may be of interest:

Craftsy is coming back in mere days!

Craftsy is due to relaunch on or around September 1. I am a current subscriber, so I’ve been getting the updates as they go. From what they said in the last email, they will not only have the good classes they have always had, they are also going to have live online events, craft alongs, and other more directly interactive things going on. So that’s pretty exciting!

The Mercerie is doing a class/crochet-along

I don’t even crochet, but I started following The Mercerie on Instagram because of the lovely pictures of her Crojoretro that have appearing lately. It is such a pretty pattern/project it makes me want to try crochet. Anyway. She is doing a class/crochet along this fall called Homage to the Granny Square, where participants will be exploring the granny square and learning other crochet techniques. No idea of costs or details, but you can sign up for her newsletter if you want to find out more.

Virtual VK Live!

The next Virtual VK Live is September 10 – 13, and is open for registration. The next one will be October 8 – 11. They do keep changing the class lists and teachers up to keep it fresh, so if you are inclined, check it out.

Virtual Yarn Crawl

Have you every wanted to go to a yarn crawl but don’t have one in your area? Well guess what – now you can go to a virtual one! The Sierra Nevada yarn crawl is online this year and takes place September 11 – 13. As a side note, I found this out from Jimmy Beans, then wondered if there were any other virtual yarn crawls going on, and it turns out there were a couple this year (Chicago and Los Angeles are two I found), but they are done at this point.

    1. I think instead of going around to all the shops you just visit them on the web. It isn’t really the same for the shopper, but I suppose it gets business into the LYSes, at least a bit. You are right, hopefully in the near-ish future we can go back to at least kind of how things were. Though some of the online options are pretty fun 🙂
