Caturday!

One day I will stop it with the puns, but today is not that day!

Anyway. I know all of my cats have been mentioned at one time or another, but I don’t think they have all been really introduced.

We adopted Edgar and Lazlo in 2009 from the Anchorage Animal Control. They had been dropped off together and had been there for a while when we got them.

Edgar is more playful and inquisitive of the two. He will investigate things, and likes to try to figure out how things work.

He is a long-haired cat who very often won’t let me brush him, which results in him sometimes winding up like this:

Lazlo is a little more laid back, though he is the more persistent.

He is also more camera shy, so most pictures of him are either when he’s sleeping or like this:

Punky is technically my Mom’s cat, though she stays with us. For a couple years there she was part of the jet set, traveling between Florida and here. However, that is expensive and a little bit of a goings on, so we have her with us full time.

Punky’s original name was Princess, and it fits – she is definitely a princess cat!

So that’s our crew 🙂 Have any fun pet stories to share?

  1. Cute cats! I don’t think I realised you had 3. I miss having my cats, but we love our dog Ylva and I think my husband is now a dog person. I’m about equal and would have both, like we did when I was a kid. My cat when I was a kid was called Daisy, she’d sleep on my bed and play for hours. She was a long haired cat and once had to be shaved underneath to get her matted hair sorted…she looked like a male lion mutant. We also had a male cat called Gatsby, he was short haired, tuxedo patterned and used to hide under bookcases so when you walked past he would rip a chunk of your heel off.

  2. OMG! They are beautiful! All of them. My gray cat Gracie is hard to photograph. Part because of her personality and partly because of her color. She’s a shade darker than Morgan who photographs beautifully.

    1. Thank you! I think they are too 🙂 All of yours are so beautiful too! When Lazlo will look up and hold still, he photographs well too. But mostly he’s looking away or avoiding the camera. I used to joke he was in witness protection 🙂

  3. You have a handsome crew of cats there. I haven’t had a cat in a few years after living with cats all my life. We inherited my mom’s cat (a Siamese) after she moved into an assisted living facility after a stroke. Taj was the most spoiled cat EVER! She wouldn’t eat unless you stroked her while she nibbled at her expensive food but she had a huge and entertaining personality.

  4. We just have Minerva/Minnie here. She’s getting more exercise through chasing flies. My husband feels she’s over missing Mortimer, her sister, who we had to euthanize earlier this summer.
