I’m a little late with this post, but close enough to halfway 🙂
At the start of the year I set myself some goals to get accomplished this year. Specifically, I planned to knit:
– 6 pairs of socks, and
– 6 sweaters
So how is it going?
Close to on plan, surprisingly! I have done 3 pairs of socks and started a 4th, so that part is right on track. Are these the socks I planned to knit this year? 2 out of 3 are, surprisingly! Wonder Woman and the well-camouflaged shark were in the plan, the Pride socks were not, but who could resist?
I’m a little behind on the sweater goal – 2 and 3/4 sweaters done so far. Dockside and Arachne are finished, and the back and sleeves of Niazuma were finished a while ago. The front is started, and I’m a little past dividing for the neckline, so hopefully not too long until that one’s done!
The goal of sticking with strictly what’s in the bin has gone by the wayside, though. I wasted a month on the Temple of Flora shawl, which honestly I am mad at myself about, and also gave in to other little distractions here and there. And there’s another one coming up – Michelle Bernstein of PDXKnitterati is doing a KAL for a very cool shawl – Half the Knit Sky, which is based on time lapse photos of the night sky. I already have my yarn, so that is definitely happening.
Can I meet my goals? I think so. Three pairs of socks should be easily done between now and December. Three more sweaters might be a little more difficult, but not if I stay focused and….. Squirrel!
Did you set any goals for this year? How are you doing with them?
You’re doing great! I’m sure you’ll get there:)

I honestly can’t remember if I set any knitting goals this year. It’s been that kind of year!

It definitely has! And you moved along with all the other stuff that’s been going on!

Ha! I set goals for the year but they are running goals, not knitting goals! Of course, Covid has impacted running much more than knitting (I suppose). I was hoping to run another marathon this year. I don’t think too many in-person marathons are happening any place near me for a while.

Yes, I would imagine your running goals for events would definitely be impacted!

Ooh that shawl is beautiful, you definitely have to join in :p
I think I did set some goals, but I can’t really remember them. The only one I’m focussing on is trying to shrink stash mountain, which I think will be achievement enough for this kind of year.

You are doing great at working through your stash!
It is a lovely shawl – I am probably getting started this week 🙂

LOL I never set knitting goals because my mind always changes based on my mood and new yarn and who knows what else! But I’m so impressed by your goals, especially six sweaters. That’s awesome, and I’m sure you’ll get there!

I have a lot of stash and projects built up and really need to work through them. If I don’t set goals my knitting progress changes a lot too, and I wind up with more stash and projects done and the existing stuff still there. I hope I’ll get through them – we shall see!

Oh same! I guess I did set a goal this year, and that was to use more skeins from stash than I brought in. I am trying to knit down my stash a bit, as it does tend to grow if left unattended!

Stashes will do that, definitely!
