Sorry for the long radio silence – it was just kind of a nutty week. Nothing bad going on, just busy with various errands and chores in the evenings. We did also do a fun thing this week – we went to the AK State Fair! I didn’t do well with getting pictures of most… Continue reading Updates
I started a new project today, the Arrowhead Cardigan (Ravelry link) by Anna Cohen. The main color yarn is Dream in Color Classy in the Peacock Shadow colorway, and the contrast color is Malabrigo Rios in the Solis colorway. At least I think so. I’m a little concerned that there may not be enough contrast,… Continue reading Arrowhead Cardigan Cast-on
With my cowl and DH’s socks done, I have one project left on the needles right now – my Lustrous Shawl. I’ve got 2 repeats done out of 37, so there’s a while to go yet. However, it does decrease throughout, so it will get easier as it goes. It feels weird just having one… Continue reading Lustrous Shawl
I got the last little bit of DH’s socks done this evening! He then engaged in a little sock modeling: Well, they fit OK and he had fun with it, so why not? These are my usual no-pattern toe up socks, and the yarn is Katla Icelandic lambswool sokkaband.
I am SO close to finishing DH’s socks! SO CLOSE! But now it’s 11 pm and I have to go to work tomorrow, and it’s just not happening tonight. Tomorrow is another day! Do you ever stay up late trying to finish things for no good reason at all?
This is the first of what will likely be several Halloween projects this year – the Cemetery Drive cowl (Ravelry link). The dark background color is Poe and his Raven from Pandia’s Jewels, and the greenish color is Ectoplasm, though I’m not sure of the dyer. It has a handwritten tag that leaves off a… Continue reading Cemetery Drive Cowl – Done!
I got my Lustrous Shawl started today, and got one pattern repeat done! This is a lovely pattern and lovely yarn, and though I’m barely into it at this point, I’m enjoying this knit 🙂 How is your weekend going? Getting much relaxing in?
The August project for the Confident Knitting club is the Lustrous shawl, designed by Noma Ndlovu, and the technique this month is reversible cables. Is that a swatch you see? Yes it is, though I generally don’t do them for accessories. However, we were advised to do a swatch, as the amount of yarn doesn’t… Continue reading What’s Next?
Right now, I’ve only got one thing on the needles other than DH’s socks – my Cemetery Drive cowl! I’ve got a little bit of colorwork yet to do, then the top ribbing. It’s a fun knit, and I’m very happy with how it’s turning out! Have any works in progress? And if so, how… Continue reading Wednesday WIP
