In the face of all logic and sense, I’m now working on 2 sweaters for knit-a-longs: She Makes Waves, and Tonnach, a Kate Davies pattern.
First, She Makes Waves. Alissa and I are doing a couple of summery, nautical-inspired KALs together this year, including this mermaid-theme sweater, and a sharky project to be named next week!

She Makes Waves is a pretty fun knit – I love how it is turning out, and it will be nice to wear on cooler days and evenings in the summer 🙂 The yarn is a 50/50 blend of cotton and wool, which is a good mix for spring and fall.
The Tonnach KAL is being run by Kate Davies herself. I am not using any of the colorways or kits currently for sale, though some of them are tempting! I was able to put together the yarn to make this project from stash, so I’m pretty happy about that. I’m not too far on this one, just the ribbing done so far.

I absolutely did not need another project right now, especially with a shark-based project starting next week. But then again – why not? It will all get done eventually!
I started on a beaded shawl last month. It’s for a nice girl who loves Wednesday Addams…she wears black all the time. So I’m making a shawl for her to wear on those occasions when she has to meet all the big wigs from the International group. So naturally it’s black with silver seed beads.
An expert weaver I met when I was in Oregon said that knitting in black was considered penance. Knitting in black fine weight was for those involved in witchcraft. Those knitting lace on size 2 needles was for serial killers. Those knitting lace with fine-weight black yarn, seed beads, and size 2 needles on a time line for entering into state and county fairs was for Dexter–the serial killer killer. It must have been in a previous life…

Sometimes you need focus, and sometimes you need options. Telling myself this after casting on a fourth project this week 😁

Well, you might not have “needed” new projects, but they look great all the same! I love the mermaids.

Who can blame you for taking on a Tonnach? I was tempted, too! Your mermaids are looking so good!

I’m blaming myself a little bit 🙂 But it will be a nice sweater in the end. Thank you! Yours are too 🙂

Nice looking knits. It’s lovely that you and Alissa are doing a KAL together. Any chance that either of you will be at the WI Sheep and Wool festival this year? My daughter and I are contemplating going to it.

Oh come on, how about 2 more sweaters to add to the group 😉
You are such a knitting goddess, I would be intimidated by THE THOUGHT of casting on a sweater 🙂
