Honestly, there are so many knitting distractions for me right now that they have become the plan. Here’s what I’m up to right now:
Homage to the Granny Square – online class which will result in a crocheted afghan. This class just started last week, so we are still in color theory basics. So far, a very solid grounding. Very excited to get to picking out my yarns!
Colour at Play – online class with Felicity (Felix) Ford of Knitsonik, launched late March. This class is sort of a companion piece to Colour at Work, a book that Felix and Kate Davies put out a little earlier this year. The majority of the class materials have been released for this one, but I am working through the lessons slowly so that I can do the exercises and absorb the information. It’s not strictly a knitting class, but more about color creativity. As with all the Felix classes I’ve taken, so inspirational and informative.
Rowan Connect – this weekend! Online classes and events with Rowan yarn and associated designers. They have some paid sessions, but also some free events, like focuses on different yarns or designers. I am signed up for Color Blending for Stranded Knits and Introduction to Algorithmic Stitch Patterns. Very excited for this one!
KDD Summer of Mystery – signups open until later this month, action starts in May. There’s a lot going on here. There is a pattern collection, there is a mystery knitalong, and there is a book club. This is going to be pretty absorbing, I think. It focuses on British mystery writer Margery Allingham. The patterns will have a 1920s-ish flair, and the MKAL is themed after one of her books. As with the other things, so excited for this to start!
Knitting in the Heartland! A long weekend of knitting fun in Kansas City with wonderful friends π
And, starting in mid-summer, Terror at Camp Black Raven! This is an 8 week long sock yarn club with associated book and movie suggestions for each week. This is going to be so much fun!
How about you? Do you have any classes, clubs, or events you are looking forward to? (Crafty or not)
These look like fun! I don’t have any classes (crafty or otherwise) lined up at the moment, but I should probably look into something. Not sure what though. I’ve been mentally focused on planning out what changes I want to make to my patio garden.

That will be so much fun! Do you have an idea what you want to do?

I’m toying with the idea of a photography class, but other than that I don’t really have any ideas.

This is a lot! I am impressed you can take on so many things. But they all sound like fun. I am also in the KDD club, and I have a knitting retreat planned for September to look forward to. -Kelly

LOL! Fortunately the classes are all months long, so lots of time to learn. Last year all my mental and emotional bandwidth was dedicated to moving and setting up in a new place. I think I’m just excited to be able to focus on my fun stuff again π
It will be fun comparing notes on the KDD club!
Looking forward to hearing about your retreat! Is that the same one you went to a few years ago?
