Gauge swatch – actual footage!

After having this pattern in my Ravelry queue for a little over two years, and having the kit for about a year and a half, I’m finally getting around to it!
Glenesk is a stranded colorwork cardigan designed by Jade Starmore. My original plan for this sweater was to get it finished last year as a sort of culmination of the Year of Colorwork. But of course that didn’t happen. I was going to work up to it, but instead decided to just go for it. The kind of intimidating parts are a) stranded colorwork and b) steeks. Well, I’ve done both of those things, and nothing too horrible happened. So I feel like it’s going to be all right on this one.
This past Saturday I did my gauge swatch and washed and blocked it. Good news – my gauge looks to be just about on! So I cast on and got started. At this point, I have gotten the bottom band done, and a couple rows of the first pattern repeat.

I realize that’s not much, but so far so good!
That is going to be gorgeous! Your swatch is pretty enough to frame:)
